THE ONLY THING TO FEAR

THE ONLY THING TO FEAR

16-year old Zara is a half Japanese/half German farmer outcast living with her Uncle Red during a future America where the Nazis have won the war. And she has a terrible secret. If anyone finds out that she shares a common thread with the anomalies that Hitler’s scientists have created, everything and everyone she loves will suffer the consequences.  She soon finds herself drawn into the resistance against the Nazi’s and swept away by a forbidden love that has no future.

A deft spinning of an alternate future that feels both real and magical, dangerous and hopeful, familiar and inventive. I really cared about Zara and her future, and found the world quite believable. An engrossing read.
